The motion to allow the bus ads has passed in Ottawa! There is a good write-up from CTV here
Feb 18, 2009 The Atheist Bus Ads are driven by the Freethought Association of Canada (FAC), a charitable organization that is driving to raise awareness in the country of the inequities and acceptance of atheists in our society. Justin Trottier, the head of FAC, has written a letter to the Ottawa Citizen explaining the whole reason for the ads. More details are available on the FAQ of the Freethough atheist bus web-site. **New** Justin Trottier will be joining us at our monthly meeting March 13th (one week early), to discuss the campaign. Although the Freethought Association of Canada is responsible for the ads, the Humanist Association of Ottawa is fully supporting the ads and their pursuit of free speech. We are contributing our time and effort in bringing the ads to our city.
Our application to place these buses on OC Transpo has been denied, though a Christian group which advocates that adulterers should gouge out their eyes to avoid having their bodies be thrown into hell (afterwards saying that this should not to be taken literally) has had their ads accepted.
